Cities and Memory is a global field recording & sound art work that presents both the present reality of a place, but also its imagined, alternative counterpart – remixing the world, one sound at at time.
It’s always interesting and exciting to explore sound and music in a more experimental way and Cities and Memory is a great place to find these types of experiments. Whenever travelling it’s great to take a trusty field recorder with you - the sounds you find can provide an interesting and unique basis for tracks. For Cities and Memory we have re-imagined sounds from Yakushima in Japan, CERN in Geneva and also created music around the ISS alarm. Have a listen to these below and other re-imaginings here.
